What happened
Publix Super Markets, Inc. of Lakeland, Florida, recalled all lots of GreenWise Organic Whole Blueberries and Organic Whole Mixed Berries on July 29, 2026, because the products may be contaminated with Escherichia coli O145:H28, a Shiga toxin-producing E. coli that can cause illness characterized by severe stomach c. The recall began June 25, 2026, and was announced by the company on July 29, 2026.
The recalled products were sold in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. The company took the action based on public health officials' product traceback and epidemiological information, out of an abundance of caution.
