What happened

Piaggio Group Americas, Inc. (PGA) is recalling certain 2026 Vespa GTV 310, Vespa Primavera 150, and Vespa Primavera 50 motorcycles in the color Officina 8 because the convex mirror warning "objects in mirror are closer than they appear" is missing. Without the convex mirror warning, riders may misjudge the distance of other vehicles, resulting in unsafe lane changes or maneuvers, increasing the risk of a crash. The recall affects 285 vehicles nationwide.

The issue was reported to NHTSA on May 12, 2026. PGA will install new mirrors with the warning message, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 18, 2026.
