What happened
Volvo Car USA, LLC is recalling certain 2025 EX30 vehicles because the high voltage battery may experience a short circuit and overheat, increasing the risk of a fire. The recall affects 161 vehicles nationwide and was reported to NHTSA on February 20, 2026. This recall replaces and expands previous NHTSA recall number 26V001.
The remedy is free of charge: dealers will inspect and replace the battery modules as necessary. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed March 16, 2026. Owners are advised to limit their charge to a maximum of 70% until the recall repair is complete.
