Alliance Chemical 1-K Kerosene Heater Fluid Portable Fuel Containers

Alliance Chemical is recalling its 1-K Kerosene Heater Fluid Portable Fuel Containers because the pre-filled containers violate mandatory safety standards for portable fuel containers. The containers lack flame mitigation devices required under the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act, posing a deadly risk of flash fire.

Additionally, the containers are not child-resistant, which violates the Children's Gasoline Burn Prevention Act and poses a risk of burn and poisoning to children. No incidents have been reported. The recall was announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on April 30, 2026.

The recalled bottles contain 1-K Kerosene Heater Fuel and come in transparent plastic containers with white caps. Each has a multicolor label with "KEROSENE" in all capital white lettering and "1-K HEATER FUEL" in similar lettering, with a single front panel containing warnings and distributor information. The containers were sold online at Amazon.com and AllianceChemical.com from January 2023 through March 2026 for between $18 and $102 depending on size. They were made in the United States.

Consumers should stop using the recalled fuel containers immediately and place them out of reach of children. Alliance Chemical will provide a full refund to consumers who provide a dated photo of the product and dispose of the fuel following local hazardous waste procedures, as kerosene fuel is hazardous. Fuel containers should be disposed of or recycled by following local hazardous waste procedures.
