Generac Portable Generator

Generac is recalling portable generators (GP3600–GP9500ETF) sold May 2025–Feb 2026 due to carburetor fuel leakage risk; check serial number at generac.com/recalls.

What to do

Locate the model and serial number on the label attached to the side of your generator. Visit https://www.generac.com/about/recalls/GP-Carburetor and enter your model and serial number to determine if your unit is affected. If affected and the generator has not yet been filled with gasoline, do not fill it and contact Generac for a remedy. If your generator has already been filled with gasoline and operated without leakage, you may continue to use it.

Why it was recalled

When first filling the recalled generator with gasoline, fuel can leak from the carburetor, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire or burn hazard. Consumers with generators that have previously been filled with enough gasoline to move the gauge off "E," or have been used without any gasoline leakage, can continue to be used.

Where it was sold

Home Depot, Lowe's and other home improvement and hardware stores nationwide and online from May 2025 through February 2026 for between $600 and $1,300.
