Casely recalls 5000mAh Power Banks (model E33A) over lithium-ion battery fire risk; one fatality reported.
Stop using this power bank immediately. Do not throw it in the trash, curbside recycling, or used battery recycling boxes. Contact your municipal household hazardous waste (HHW) collection center ahead of time to confirm they accept recalled lithium-ion batteries, then bring the device to them for safe disposal. If your HHW center does not accept it, contact your municipality for guidance.
Why it was recalled
Casely is reannouncing the recall of Casely Power Banks 5000mAh portable MagSafe wireless phone chargers (model E33A) sold March 2022–September 2024 due to lithium-ion battery overheating and fire risk. The company has received 79 total consumer reports of the battery overheating, expanding, or catching fire, including one fatality and one serious incident on an airplane. Consumers should stop using the product immediately and dispose of it at a municipal household hazardous waste collection center; do not throw it in trash or standard recycling bins.
