Why it was recalled

BMW is recalling certain 2023–2026 7 Series, I7, i5, 5 Series, M5, M5 Sportswagon, 550e xDrive, and 750e xDrive vehicles. The electrical wiring harness for the air conditioning system may become damaged during cabin air filter replacement, which can short-circuit and increase fire risk.
