Why it was recalled

Ford is recalling certain 2024 Explorer vehicles equipped with a 2.3L engine and 10R60 automatic transmission. An unintentional powertrain control module (PCM) reset may occur while the vehicle is in motion, which can damage the park system and prevent the vehicle from shifting into park, increasing the risk of a rollaway. This recall was distributed nationwide.
