Why it was recalled

Ford is recalling certain 2014 F-150 vehicles that were previously repaired incorrectly under a prior recall. A loss of signal between the transmission output shaft speed sensor and the powertrain control module can cause the transmission to unexpectedly downshift into first gear, which may result in a loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash. This recall was distributed nationwide.
