Toyota bZ Woodland (2026)

Driving with a disabled electronic stability control system or continuously illuminated brake lights can increase the risk of a crash.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain 2026 bZ Woodland vehicles equipped with a tow converter because an electrical short circuit may occur within the tow converter printed circuit board. This short circuit can deactivate the electronic stability control system and cause the brake lights to remain illuminated.

As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards numbers 126, "Electronic Stability Control Systems for Light Vehicles" and 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment." The recall affects 407 vehicles nationwide.

The issue was reported to NHTSA on August 6, 2026. Dealers will replace the tow converter, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 30, 2026. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 26TB15 and 26TA15.
