What happened

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling certain 2025-2026 Camry Hybrid vehicles because the instrument cluster display may fail during vehicle startup, deactivating the hazard lights, turn signals, seat belt warning system, and smart key reminder. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 101, 108, 114, and 208. The recall affects 508,354 vehicles nationwide.

The issue was reported to NHTSA on August 6, 2026. Dealers will update the display software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on September 28, 2026. Toyota's numbers for this recall are 26TB16 and 26TA16.
