Week of June 22–28, 2026
The week in recalls
Contaminated moringa capsules and an eye ointment carrying bacteria led the list. Between them, the week's recalls touched food, drugs, heart pumps and a large batch of vehicles.
Recall CanaryUpdated
Time for this week's recall roundup. Officials listed eighty-five recalls this week, and they were mostly medical devices and biologics, with food and drugs close behind. The ones that matter most involve a supplement that may carry Salmonella and a compounded eye ointment that may carry bacteria, so let's start there.
TNVitamins Organic Moringa Capsules and Powder may be contaminated with Salmonella, which can cause serious infections, especially in young children, older adults, and anyone with a weakened immune system. This one carries a high risk rating and was sold nationwide, so if you have the capsules or powder at home, stop using them and check the recall notice for what to do next. Separately, MFV Compounding Pharmacy Diclofenac Sodium Eye Ointment was found to contain Bacillus cereus, a bacterium that has no business being in something you put in your eye. It went to eight states. If you have this ointment, do not use it.
Two other recalls are worth a minute. Abiomed Impella CP Sets and Low Profile Introducer Kits carry a high risk rating because a blood clot may form during prolonged use of the introducer, a serious concern for patients relying on these heart pumps. And Hyundai Tucson, Tucson Hybrid, and Tucson Plug-In Hybrid vehicles from the 2025 and 2026 model years may have an instrument panel display that fails, which can raise the risk of a crash.
That is the shape of it for now. You can find every recall from the week, along with the steps to take, in the full list below.
