Recall CanaryUpdated
Another week of recalls to go through. There were 79 recalls listed, and most of them were medical devices, drugs and vehicles. The ones that matter most this week involve injections that may contain particles and a fuel filter that should not be driven with, so let's start there.
Three drugmakers pulled injections after particulate matter turned up in the vials. Long Grove Pharmaceuticals Cyclophosphamide for Injection is a high risk recall because the particles are stainless steel, which can cause serious harm if they reach a patient's bloodstream. Baxter Cefazolin in Dextrose Injection may also contain particles, and those can block blood vessels in the lungs or cause inflammation in a vein. American Regent's various injections were contaminated with particulate matter identified as hair. If you work in a clinic or hospital, check your stock and set these aside.
On the road, K&N and Spectre replacement fuel filters carry a do not drive warning. The O-ring inside can break apart, letting fuel leak, which brings a risk of fire or a crash. About 44,053 filters were sold, so if you installed one yourself, stop driving and get it replaced. Separately, Ford Bronco vehicles from 2021 to 2026 may have engine wiring that rubs and shorts, which can start a fire.
That is the shape of the week: a few recalls where the fix is simple and the risk is not. Take a minute to check anything you own or use from the list below, and follow the instructions each company gives.
