Week of August 17–23, 2026
The week in recalls
Medical devices and medicines carried much of the week, with a dog food pulled over metal pieces and a car told to stay outdoors. The thyroid tablets and the heart device are the ones to read closely.
Recall CanaryUpdated
Time for this week's recall roundup. There were 61 recalls this week, mostly medical devices and medicines, with a share of vehicles and food mixed in. The ones that matter most are a thyroid tablet that may be stronger than its label says and a device used in a neck artery procedure, so let's start there.
Vitruvias Therapeutics Thyroid Tablets may be stronger than the label states, which the FDA rates as high risk. Thyroid medicine is dosed carefully, and a tablet with more active ingredient than expected can push a patient's levels too high, causing a racing heart, anxiety, sweating or worse. If you take these tablets, check your bottle against the recall notice and talk to your pharmacist before your next dose.
Boston Scientific ENROUTE Transcarotid Neuroprotection System is a high risk recall because the tip of a sheath used during a carotid artery procedure can separate or partly separate while it is in use. That is a problem for the surgical team, not something a patient can check at home, so hospitals and clinics should pull affected units and follow the instructions in the notice.
A few others are worth a minute. Fromm Diner Classics Milo's Meatloaf Pate and Fromm Pate Turkey Pate may contain pieces of metal, which can choke a dog or cause vomiting and other serious problems, so stop feeding it and check the lot codes. Lucid Air cars from certain model years have an exterior lighting circuit that may overheat, and the warning is to park outside until the fix is done. The full list below has everything from the week, including the rest of the food, drug and vehicle notices.
