The week in recalls
Child seats missing a tether strap and chia seeds that may carry Salmonella led the recalls, alongside air bags that may not protect and a battery that can catch fire. Check the seat and the seeds first.

Let's look at what got recalled this week. There were 66 recalls, mostly vehicles and food, and a few of them are worth your attention right now. The ones that matter most are a child seat that may be missing a tether strap and chia seeds that may be contaminated with Salmonella, so let's start there.
The Evenflo Titan 65 child seats may have been made without a tether strap, which is the strap that anchors the seat to your car and keeps it from moving too far in a crash. If you have one of these seats, check the model number and look for the tether strap. If it is missing, contact Evenflo for help. The seats were sold nationwide, and the recall covers 64,031 of them.
Navitas Organics Organic Chia Seeds may be contaminated with Salmonella, a germ that can cause serious infections, especially in young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. The seeds were sold in 26 states. If you have them, do not eat them. Throw them away or return them to the store. Salmonella can make you sick with fever, diarrhea, and stomach cramps, and it can be especially serious for some people.
Two other recalls are worth a minute. The Hyundai Palisade has side curtain air bags that may deploy improperly in a crash, which can increase the risk of injury. The Volkswagen ID.4 has a high voltage battery that may catch fire, and the company says to park outside until the fix is done.
