The week in recalls
A heavy stretch for medical devices and vehicles, with moringa capsule recalls over possible Salmonella and high-risk warnings telling drivers to stop driving certain trucks and SUVs.
Recall CanaryUpdated
Another week of recalls to go through. There were 59 recalls in all, and most of them were medical devices and vehicles. The ones that matter most are a pair of high-risk warnings telling drivers to stop driving certain trucks and SUVs, plus two moringa capsule recalls over possible Salmonella, so let's start there.
Ford is recalling certain Ford Bronco Sport and Maverick vehicles because the front lower control arm ball joints may have been installed or repaired incorrectly at the plant. That can let the control arm disconnect from the front wheel knuckle, and the warning is do not drive: the loss of control raises the chance of a crash. If you own one of these SUVs or pickups, check whether yours is included and follow the instructions before you get back on the road. Mack is also recalling certain Mack Anthem, Pioneer, Pinnacle and Granite trucks over wheel lug nuts that may loosen and let a wheel come off, which is also a do not drive warning.
Two moringa capsule recalls are worth your attention because the products may be contaminated with Salmonella, which can cause serious infections. Total Nutrition Moringa Capsules and MOGO Pure Moringa Oleifera Capsules were sold nationwide. If you have either bottle at home, do not take the capsules.
On the medical side, Abiomed is recalling its Impella controllers over alarm failures, power-path faults and inaccurate motor-current sensing, all high risk. If you use one of these devices, your care team can tell you what to do next. The full list below has every recall from the week, with links to the official notices.
